Gunners trail Milo

According to Skysports.com, Arsene Wenger is looking into the possibility of signing Egyptian International defender Milo.

Arsenal have supposedly expressed an interest in the 21-year-old and are keen to see how he performs in the London 2012 games with Egypt.

However, Arsenal do face some competition for his signing, namely from Sporting Lisbon and Benefica. Lyon are also tracking the young defender.

There is already some competition in the left-back position for Arsenal with Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos vying for the spot, and signing Milo may seem as overkill in some fans’ eyes. However, after the numerous defender injuries we had last season, I can understand why we are looking to adopt a more cautious approach.

There is no information yet on any fees been mentioned, but it is thought that his club will not stand in the way of a move this summer, despite him being contracted until 2014.

In a recent interview with Milo, the youngster had this to say:

‘I’m surprised that Arsenal are interested in me and I’m very pleased with this.

When I was with the Olympic team in Toulon I was informed by my agent that Lyon and some other clubs were interested in signing me.

‘I believe the Arsenal scouts will watch me closely at the London Olympics.

‘My participation at London 2012 is what will determine my next step, and I hope to come to a European club.’

As there is very limited information on Milo, I suggest we watch him at the London Olympics and can judge his ability after this.
