Do we really need to recruit a playmaker whilst this man remians at Arsenal?

At one point he looked to be on his way out of the Emirates. But after an injury-free season Tomas Rosicky feels he has more to offer after his brilliant performances so far this term, and after signing a new contract in March, it’s clear to see that he is committed to helping the club go forward.

A few days ago the Czech midfielder said:

‘I still believe I have plenty in me, we will see how it all goes, but right now I feel great and want to continue this way.

‘You know, my normal age is 31, but in football years I am 29. I lost two years because of injury.

‘I can say that I feel very well and I hope I have many years to come.

‘You see players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, what they are producing at their age for Manchester United is great and that’s a real inspiration for me.

‘Everything is possible, but of course it will depend on my health.’

Rosicky has been used in his more favoured role of attacking midfielder. He’s shown exactly the same vision and ability this season, if not better, which made Arsene Wenger sign him in the first place.

Rosicky went on to say:

‘I am in the advanced position of the three, looking to get in between the opposition’s midfield and defence.

‘When we have the ball I am starting quite close to Robin [van Persie] up front, and after that I can come a bit deeper and stretch the pitch out.

‘I can’t say for sure whether this has made the whole difference, but I would certainly agree that what the boss is asking [of me] at the moment suits me nicely.

‘The whole season has gone quite well for me, but I was injured twice in the first few months so couldn’t keep up sustained form.’

He added:

‘I am enjoying the rhythm the manager has given me now. Obviously the whole team is playing very good football at the moment and I think I fit quite well into the team now.

‘We enjoy playing together and that is a big part of it.’

Well. I certainly believe Rosicky has been fantastic this season, and we can rely on him to continue his incredible performances until the end of the campaign. His injury took a lot of time away from him and I’m sure he will be looking to make up for the lost opportunities.

Much like Giggs and Scholes do for Manchester United, I feel Rosicky can do for us. He’s experienced and the skill and ability, the kind of player we will need when pressure begins to pile on, be it in a title race or major cup final.

He’s in his 30’s and is thriving, something Wenger should look at and not just sell off because he is above the age limit at the club. As a midfielder he has a lot more left in him. He could drop deeper as he grows older and when that extra yard of pace begins to fade away.

However, I still do believe that we need to buy another creative midfield maestro, should anything happen to Rosicky in the long run.

we cannot always rely on the option of buying players at every given opportunity.how about enforcing our other players to upgrade their game as did tomaso rosciky

Why doesn’t M.Wenger try playing Andrei Arshavin in his preferred position, rather than out on the wing?
If that works as well as Tomas Rosicky’ move,we’ll be onto a winner!

Get hazard then we shall be sorted, you can not rely on someone who is as injury prome as rosicky we have been lucky with rvp very lucky. Although jack can play very well as a playmaker, I think his best position is as a box to box midfielder he was just awesome in that role, even in my view the best barca team ever couldn’t handle him, he was the only one who was constantly on there backs taking them for a ride. I think the midfield should be as follows: Martinez defensive midfield, jack and artetta as the central midfielders then Walcott on the right and hazard on the left. Do not right wenger off buying top players just yet people wait until the end of the summer, this is the midfield I would like to see with nkoulou at centre back and adebeyor or huntelaar or both up front. Although podolski is a good player I really don’t think his style of play will suit the gunners I think we need a front man who will win those headers in the box at the last minute to win the game, adebeyor and huntelaar are those type of players. Are has matured into a to quality player who I would personally greet him back, a player who will come back to the team he left so bitterly to make up for his mistakes is a player whomb I would respect and encourage others to do the same it is a making of a man to face his demons I believe ade is ready to come back to face his demons

why not go for Marvin Martin? Sochaux look as though they could get relegated this season so he’d be dirt cheap.
