Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda has reportedly attracted interest from Arsene Wenger.

The highly-rated Moroccan seems to be the gaffer’s next target after supposedly striking a deal with FC Koln to sign German international Lukas Podolski in the summer.

Belhanda expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, but the Ligue 1 side’s asking price for the 22-year-old is said to be around £15 million. A price which I think is too high, especially for a player I have barely even heard of!

Wenger expressed his interest in Belhanda earlier this week.

The Frenchman said:

‘I know Younes well and like him a lot.’

‘But I don’t want to cause problems. Only Montpellier can decide where he goes.’

Belhanda has also been linked with AC Milan and Paris St Germain, though the Avignon-born winger said he would be better suited at Arsenal.

Belhanda told French TV Station TF1:

‘Milan, I know nothing about. I think it is just rumours.

‘My dream is to play in England or Germany.

‘Everybody wants to play in the Premier League and there are some great clubs like Arsenal, which is almost a French club.

‘Germany has a lot of big clubs who deliver good performances in the Champions League. The atmosphere in the stadium is magnificent too.’

He added:

‘I am focused on Montpellier now because it is the club that gave me fame, I can stay here for two or three years to come.’

With that being said, I think its best we go for him in about two or three years when he’s a little more experienced. If he’s as good as reports suggest then he’s one for the future. But at the moment we may be looking for more experienced players to add depth to our squad.

Whatever the case, I’m not too sure about signing the youngster now. I may be forced to swallow my words for this one day if he goes to rival club this summer and does wonders, but I’m pretty sure we will do just fine without him if it happens. After all We have our own young talent waiting in the wings.

Yes this fella is a good player buts that’s the problem he’s a GOOD player not a AMAZING player we’ve gone from gotze and hazard to belhanda there is a serious gap in quality between these players.. I would still like to arsenal really make a statement and sign KAKA!!!! He was offered to us last jan for 17.5 mil but said no and brought arteta in stead another good player but not AMAZING!!!! Let’s start changing world football next season and make the snug signings in summer!!!!!!
