I am the one and only!

We arrived in Liverpool on the back of one of our best performances of the season. Unlike the locals, we did not pass go, we did not nick the £200, we did not go directly to jail. We undertook the ultimate smash and grab, burgling the points from under the Liverbird’s beak.

Whatever anyone says, at the final whistle, its the graphic in the top left that matters, nothing else.

It wasn’t pretty to watch, in fact we were bloody dire for large parts of the game, but they still owed us for the 2001 FA Cup final and justice was, in part, received with this result.

The four main perpetrators of this break in were:-

• Robin van Persie – two attempts, two goals, his 30th and 31st of the season secured the points, again!!! If anyone says there is a better striker in the world, they are lying. He scores when he wants!

• Laurent Koscielny and Thomas Vermaelen – forming a strong centre-back partnership and will have left Merseyside with Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt firmly in their pockets. Now they can make mistakes, but so did Kolo and Sol, Tony and Baldy and I honestly believe these two (with the BFG as cover) can be as good.

• Chesney Hawkes – To think, if the offer had been accepted last summer, it would have been Pepe Renia in between the sticks for The Arsenal and after yesterday’s displays we would have been the poorer for it. The penalty (more about that later) save was quality, the second to deny Kuyt was world-class. From that point Szcz took control of the rear guard and marshalled his troops. After his unfortunate OG, Kos sank to his knees feeing sorry for himself. Szczesny, taking control of the situation, wasn’t having any of it, dragged him to his feet and told him to forget it and get on with it. At 21, he is not one to lack confidence, he told us all he was going to be one of the best and he is proving he is a rightful successor to Spunky and The Mad German and will be the worthy recipient of the no.1 jersey next season.

Arsene Wenger also praised Woj for his outstanding performance:

‘It is good that he had a performance like that, because he had a little bit of a difficult period in January.

‘He has shown his potential and I like that he was brave as well. He had a lot of kicking to do and a lot of coming out to do, and he didn’t make a mistake.

‘At 21 years old he is a great talent, he is learning his job but because he is a great talent, he learns quickly.’

We came, we scored two, we conquered, we left town sharpish.

To go back to the penalty and jingoistic coverage as ever from the British broadcasters. Last week, good old British lad, G.Bale ‘he’s nice to his mother and adopts kittens’ dives and it’s not even a footnote to any report. Yesterday, dirty, cheating Suarez dives and 30 replays are used at half-time to prove he dived and should be hounded out of the country.

Now I’m not defending Suarez in anyway, just highlighting the media’s double standards.

Arsene has reported that the injuries are piling up in advance of Tuesday’s forgone conclusion against AC Milan. Obviously Diaby is injured again, but more of an issue are the problems with Gibbs, Mikel and Yossi.

Personally, send the second string out on Tuesday to gain some valuable game time and give the first-team the night off to prepare for the next fourth place six-pointer against the Tsunami on Monday week.

Tbh I think pundits actually called Bale on his dive and Suarez was unfortunately justified by some

It doesn’t matter, they’re equally ugly trolls. On the inside and outside.

What a shame you forgot to mention that Arsenal were played off the park for most of the game. Two shots at goal by RVP. No corners in the game. Arsenal are almost a one man team Stop RVP and you stifle Arsenal. A shame that a goalkeeper has to use his boots instead of his gloves to possibly break a players leg. Look at how easily Arteta was injured. RVP will soon be on his way to Barca if he has any brains.

James me old fruit, if it was that easy why didnt they do it?
After all they spent how much in the summer?
Remember the game at the Emirates? It was you who mugged us methinks.
Arteta was taken to hospital, is that going down easy?
Never mind, the 10 points difference is looking good isnt it?

James be constructive here. With hard work and 100 million more spent on transfers Liverpool may be able to step up and join the Europa League. Work hard my son.

TV replays showed contact and fans should read the FIFA’s rules on fouls you don’t have to make contact to give a foul if the intent is there for a foul a penalty or free kick can be given.

Bacary Sagna should have been mentioned as one of the perpetrators of this “smash-and-grab” (over Koscielny, who had one of his worst games of the season). In addition to his beautiful cross that led to RVP’s first goal, Sagna was very solid providing an outlet on the Arsenal right, defending the flank (where Theo Walcott was a defensive liability as usual) and covering the far post against the barrage of crosses Liverpool sent in from the right side of its offense, particularly when Downing was in the game. While it might not have been his best game of the season, overall, Sagna gave one of the most solid Arsenal performances from beginning to end.

  • Ac Milan says:

Kuyt and Suarez in the pocket of the defence? Football start in the sky era for you? Used to like rugger did you? You don’t know much about football, that’s for sure. Or are you just thick?

  • nickinportugal says:

Liverpool have scored thirty goals this season in the Premiarship with big Andy chipping in with (2), we have scored 55 with Robin managing 25. Says it all James, it has cost you 17 million a goal, King Kenny is playing 1970+s football when Carroll comes on, Toshack-Keegan v Carroll.Suarez. You played very well yesterday, fast, penetrating, Suarez is a great player, Kuyt so underrated, I like Adam though he is a dirty fucker, and Henderson has a lot of potential but this is a team with limitations…….
