Udinese star Juan Cuadrado, who is currently on loan at Lecce, is rumoured to have attracted interest from Arsenal, PSG, Inter Milan and Napoli.
His recent performances on the right flank in both attack and defence have been nothing short of consistent and excellent.
In addition, the 23-year-old Colombian has hit the back of the net three times in 26 league appearances for the Serie A side, and Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims the youngster’s signature will be up for grabs this summer.
Cuadrado is highly-rated by Udinese. With that in mind, they will only look to sell to the highest bidder, as they plan to use the money to reinvest in new signings of their own.
With our current crop of young talent at the club, I don’t think we particularly need him.
He plays on the right flank and can also play in the full-back position, which automatically screams bench warmer for me, as Bacary Sagna has the right-back position locked down and in attack we have Theo Walcott, Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, so to claim a place in theis Arsenal line-up will be a huge hurdle for the youngster to overcome, should we sign him of course.
In my opinion, the former Independiente Medellin forward would just add squad depth, nothing more.
And as for selling to the highest bidder, PSG have won that battle already. They have an abundance of money to dish out, a luxury the other clubs reportedly interested may not or just don’t have.
