Should Arsenal pursue this want-away Bayern star?

Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben recently indicated that he wants to return to the Premier League, news that has put the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham on alert.

With just one year left on his current deal at the Allianz Arena, it is thought a fee of around £10 million, according to the Daily Mirror, would be sufficient amount to buy the 28-year-old Dutch winger.

Robben has reportedly remained in contact with a number of his former Chelsea team-mates, which could be a big pull for the speedy winger to rejoin the west London club, especially under a new management.

Robben has endured a really tough time at Bayern Munich as of late, where he has endured a lot of criticism for not praising his team-mates, as well as his lack of fitness.

‘I can try put up a brave face and make out all the things in Munich do not effect me, but of course it gets on my nerves and effects me. I just needed this game against England so much. It was a joy to be playing at my best again.’

When asked about his situation in Germany, Robben responded:

‘I don’t have an ideal situation in Germany. I am now considering the options I have and I will get.’

So, should Arsenal pursue the Bayern forward?

Well it sounds like he’s pretty much made his mind up to leave the Bavarian club, and we can only hope that Arsene Wenger sees and seizes the opportunity to sign him, especially as it could be the signing that could help keep Robin Van Persie commit his future to Arsenal. Robben also has bags of experience and is arguably one of the best wingers in world football, his potential inclusion could certainly enhance our side next season. It would also be great to acquire Robben from under the noses of our London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham as well!

After another fantastic result at the weekend, Arsenal find themselves just four points behind third placed Tottenham now and are well and truly back challenging for a top four finish this season. Van Persie seems to be on fire and even if we don’t get Robben we should make every effort to ensure players of the Dutchman’s calibre and quality are signed to persuade RVP to sign a new deal at the club.

rubben will be a good buy for arsenal but judging from his pass record in the EPL, rubben will help arsenal if he remains injury free but frankly, he’s injury prone player especially with his style of play and with arsenal whose players suffer more injuries then others. but if wenger can guide him, his partnership with RVP will be something to watch.
