Sunderland v Arsenal – Match preview

|

Key player: Sebastian Larsson

It was a toss up between the Swede and Sessegnon, but just for his set-piece ability, which can win games, I went for Larsson. The 26-year-old has netted 7 goals for Sunderland so far this season, and his free-kicks, as well as his corners, are very effective and can cause problems.

Likely line-up:

Mignolet

Bardsley         O’Shea          Kyrgiakos          Richardson

Larsson          Colback          Gardner          McClean

Sessegnon

Campbell

Arsenal team news:

The Gunners welcome back Kieran Gibbs, but whether he will feature remains to be seen. Marouane Chamakh is back from the African Cup of Nations, while Gervinho prepares for the final with Ivory Coast. Abou Diaby, Carl Jenkinson, Jack Wilshere and Emmanuel Frimpong, who returned to the club a few days ago, are all ruled out.

Key player: Robin van Persie

The Dutchman is simply on fire. 22 goals in 24 league appearances, need I say more?

Likely line-up:

Szczesny

Sagna          Mertesacker          Koscielny          Vermaelen

Song          Arteta

Ramsey

Walcott                                        Chamberlain

Van Persie

Prediction:

Very tough game to call as both teams look like they’re on the up. However, my Gooner instincts are telling me that we’re going to bag all three points, despite Sunderland’s recent form.

Score: 1-2
