Real Madrid have once again been linked with a move for Arsenal captain Robin van Persie this summer and, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Dutchman is excited by the prospect of playing for such an illustrious club:
The striker was quoted as saying:
‘I like to know the interest of such an important club like Real Madrid. Course I’m excited to play there.’
The 28-year-old forward has been in scintillating form for the Gunners this season and tops the Premier League goal scoring charts with 22 goals.
However, the Dutchman, who has also been linked with a summer move to Manchester City and recently Barcelona, only has 16 months left to run on his existing deal at Arsenal, who are keen to keep hold of their prized asset.
However, with very little or no sign of renewing his stay at the Emirates and interest being shown in him by Barcelona and Real Madrid, RVP may wait to hear what the Spanish duo have to offer before committing his long-term future with the Gunners.
According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid are ready to offer Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal as part of a £30million bid for the Dutch international.

True William, but the writer isn’t talking about Barca is he, he’s on about Real’s interest. Listen if the quotes are true and RVP said it then he is only being human by welcoming Madrid’s interest. Let’s face it if Real, or for that matter Barca, come for you it is very hard to turn down
Erm well I never once said that RVP will be sold or in fact he stated what said, I’m just taking quotes from Marca – no matter how crap a newspaper they are – and then producing my own story for the site.
However, I do believe that Real are interested in our man. Let’s hope he signs a new deal with us so all this speculation of a move disappears.
