Former United hero brands Arsenal forward ‘average’

I’m starting to think that former Manchester United and Russia star Andrei Kanchelskis has some sort of problem with Andrey Arshavin.

Over a year ago, when we lost to the Spuds 3-2 at home, Kanchelskis had this to say on our little Russian’s performance in that game:

‘Physically, our striker is not ready for British football. Andrey is a 70-minute player.’

He also accused Arshavin of being more interested in ‘money matters’ than his performances just before the turn of the year:

‘These days all the players are thinking of is money matters. And I see it as one of their major problems.’

Now the FC Ufa manager believes Arshavin has struggled at Arsenal because he is ‘Physically weak’ and also branded the 30-year-old as ‘average’.

Speaking to Sovetsky Sport, the former Russia international said:

‘Of course Arshavin is an average player, would you say he is a top footballer like Nasri or Fabregas? And his four goals at Anfield don’t prove anything.

‘I am convinced that the key quality for a big player is to play consistently not 45 or 60 minutes, but the whole game.’

He finished off by saying:

‘He is physically weak, but he has some other qualities.’

Although I agree that Andrey is physically weak for the Premier League, I wouldn’t label him as ‘average’, despite his poor form and performances.

As I have stated before, the diminutive Russian has great technical ability, but is severely lacking in confidence. We have seen what he is truly capable of when he’s on song in the past and just recently when he assisted Thierry Henry, who bagged the winner against Sunderland last Saturday. But it’s just not working for him at the moment.

However, I will say that if he continues to perform like he has done this season, then I think he will be sold in the summer, especially now that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on the scene.

Its a waste of time watching this Arsenal team all you get is ping pong passes retreating backwards. No exciting player in sight. Tactics unheard of. And now some more horrible kit. Its bad enough watching Arsenal but at least it would help if the goalkeeper didnt look like a dustman in the drab grey outfit!
Oh, to get back to when teams looked masculine!
I expect the deluded “manager” to field this team next# Arshaven in goal. Vp and Rosicky full back. Walcott and Chamach cetre backs. Squillaci Park Gibbs Sagna Djourua and Fabrianski. All mid field to cover the back line. No forwards Winger dosnt believe in them or defenders or goalkeepers so this would suit hime. Oh and Djourou Captain!
Arsene ans Arsenal have become a farce. Oh I forgot we will get a couple of dead persons out of the local morgue to sit in the dug out. A live person urgibg these poor Arsenal fragile babes might upset them.

Just like what petit said, arshavin, rosicky and wallcot are not good enough for arsenal, i like to add more to dat list ramsey should be benched dourou, diaby, charmakh, almunia, fabianski, squillasi, arshavin and wallcot should all be sold and be replaced. Cus these players are all less than average meaning they don’t know hw 2 play football.

You guys don’t get it, Arshavin is already back in form. He has slimmed down and their is more conviction in his play since the QPR game. You’ll see in the weekend if he starts in the Fa Cup, he will proove the critics wrrng. I’ve been saying this for some games now but he doesn’t even seem to get into the starting line up. Its a disgrace that Walcott and Ramsey do get picked almost every game. These two don’t play for the team they’re just happy playing at a top club thats it. They are better players coming on as substitutes.
