Stephane Sessegnon has played down talks of a summer move to Arsenal after being linked with the north London club yesterday, insisting he is happy with life at the Stadium of Light, according to talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old Black Cats forward was quoted in French publication L’Equipe saying:

‘Interest from some bigger English clubs? I don’t think about that so far.’

He added:

‘Above all I am thinking to score and assist. We will talk about my future again at the end of the season.’

Reports on Sunday suggested that Arsene Wenger is looking into the possibility of signing the Benin international this summer in a deal which would see the Gunners stump up £12 million upfront plus the services of Nicklas Bendtner, who is currently on-loan at Sunderland.

Although I think Sessesgnon is a decent player and would suit our style of play well, I’m glad to see he has played down this ‘rumour’ as I think our club should be targeting more established players than him.

I guess we’ll have to see what happens at the end of the season but personally, I can’t see this move happening.
