Former Arsenal boss George Graham believes Blackburn’s Christopher Samba is the man to solve Arsenal’s defensive problems, according to talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old centre-back has officially handed in a transfer request at Ewood Park, but Blackburn boss Steve Kean insists he is not for sale.

PSG, Tottenham and QPR, who have already tabled a £5 million bid for the defender, are just three clubs out of a handful said to be interested in Samba.

Graham believes Arsene Wenger should target Samba to reinforce the Gunners defence, which has now conceded the most away goals in the Premier League.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, Graham said:

‘You look at the Arsenal back four and they keep changing. Both of the full-backs are injured and they’re playing centre-halves there. There was a young Frenchman playing against Swansea [Ignasi Miquel] who was completely out of his depth.’

Graham then went on to suggest that Samba would make the perfect defensive partner for the injured Thomas Vermaelen:

‘I’d be in for Samba [to help out in defence.] Thomas Vermaelen is one of the best centre-halves in the Premier League and they need to get him back as quickly as possible.

‘They need a strong defensive centre-half to play alongside him though and Samba would make the perfect partner.’

Do you guys agree with Graham? Should Samba be targeted by Arsenal?

LETS BE HONEST GUYS, SURELY SAMBA WOULD BE BETTER THAN METERSACKER ALONG SIDE VERMAELEN OR KOSCIELNY….MERTESACKER HAS BEEN VERY POOR FOR ARSENAL

Getting Samba would be a gem of a pickup as it would give us more options defensively and allow Vermaelen to slot in on the left when necessary or Koscielny on the right when necessary with two solid central defenders. Also, Samba seems like he’d bring another more threatening addition on set pieces.
Sorry, but in this current injury crisis Djourou just doesn’t look convincing at the right, especially going forward and Mertesacker has brought nothing to the table as far as being a set piece threat.

Look we’re not gonna buy anyone just supportt the team and the manager. No good times without bad times it was fun when we whooped chelsea and now every fan is turning into a cry baby

What we need more then anything is our 4 full backs back. Sagna, koscielny, vermaelen and Gibbs is as strong a back 4 then we’ve had over the last 5 years. We looked more assured when TV5 came back but when he got injured again we are leaking stupid goals. If we have Djurou, mert, kos, miquel on Sunday then we are in big trouble
