Could there be another reason why Wenger resigned this Arsenal legend?

Arsene Wenger is set to complete the loan signing of Thierry Henry sometime this week to give The Gunners some much needed support upfront when both Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh head out to the African Cup of Nations. However, reports are suggesting that Wenger has brought back the legendary French striker for another reason other than netting goals, to potentially become his new no.2 when Pat Rice steps down from his current post. Could it be possible?

Henry has already expressed a desire to go into coaching when he hangs up his boots, and I am sure there is no other club he would rather join to do this than his beloved Arsenal, especially with the help and guidance of Arsene Wenger as his tutor.

I believe many, if not all, the Arsenal fans would jump at the chance of seeing Thierry on a regular basis. However, I am pretty sure that there is a lot still to happen before this ensues.

Rice was expected to quit during the summer, as he is suffering with a chronic knee problem, but he was later convinced by Wenger to stay on for at least another season.

34-year-old Frenchman recently stated in an interview:

‘Everyone knows I love football and living without it is difficult for me,I became a Gunners fan for life. Something happened with the fans which I could not forget.’

During this new spell at the club, albeit only for two months on loan, I’m guessing Mr. Wenger will be hoping to convince Thierry of returning to the club as a coach when he decides to call it a day, and in my opinion, the French forward will probably bite his arm off at the opportunity.
