Barnet have signed Arsenal youngster Sead Harjrovic on a one-month loan deal.
The Swiss youth international joined the Gunners in 2009 from Grasshoppers Zurich, but Arsene Wenger now wants the promising 18-year-old to gain regular first team football and experience in League Two with the Bees, with whom Arsenal have a good relationship with.
The young right-back, who can also play at centre-back, was part of the Swiss squad that won the Under-17 World Cup three years ago.
On his move to Barnet, Harjrovic told BBC Sport:
‘This has come out of the blue. I am looking forward to first-team football.’
Harjrovic, who is known for his composure on the ball and aerial ability, is yet to make an appearance for the Arsenal senior team – this may still be the case for the next couple of seasons – but the Swiss defender developed and honed his skills well whilst in Steve Bould’s academy side and, because of his progression, became a regular for the reserve side last term.
