Young Arsenal keeper wants loan move

|

Young Gunners goalkeeper Damian Martinez wants to be loaned out for the rest of the season in order to develop his talent.

Despite starring for the reserves, the 18-year-old Argentine remains fourth in line for a first-team game at The Emirates, and it is believed his representatives have recently asked Arsene Wenger to secure a temporary loan deal for the youth star in a lower division for the remainder of the campaign.

It is understood Martinez, who signed for Arsenal at the beginning of last season from Independiente, would be happy to follow in Wojciech Szczesny’s footsteps and drop down a level or two in order to step up his football education.

The young Argentine looks a promising goalkeeper and prospect for Arsenal. He has relatively good reflexes, positioning and stands tall at 6’3’’.

I for one would encourage Martinez to secure a short-term move away from the Emirates as soon as possible – Szczesny did it 2 years ago, look where he is now!
