Arsenal’s star striker Robin van Persie wants to stay at the Emirates beyond this season, according to the club’s chairman Peter Hill-Wood.
Van Persie’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of next season and speculation has mounted that the Dutch international could leave north London.
However, talking to the Daily Star, Hill-Wood said:
‘I think Robin wants to stay. He seems very happy.
‘Nothing has been discussed, though it is obvious we want him to stay. He doesn’t want to talk about a contract now and that’s fine with us.’
