Arsenal and Bundesliga side Schalke are reportedly leading the chase to sign OGC Nice defender Luciano Fabian Monzon, according to talkSPORT.
The 24-year-old left-back has been in impressive form for the Ligue 1 outfit since joining in the summer and is already appearing on several top European clubs radars.
It is believed Arsene Wenger is still looking to add to his defensive line, but will have to act fast if he wishes to sign Monzon as Schalke are also interested in the Agentine international.
Personally, I think the addition of another left-back would be wise.
Kieran Gibbs is always injured and while Andre Santos is doing ok for us, his inability to stick to his position and defend worries me a bit. In my opinion, I still think we need another body in the mix in this position, preferably one that can defend rather than attack. Whether this is Monzon I don’t know, only Wenger does, but the Frenchman should definitely consider signing another left-back in January.
