Reported Arsenal target Leandro Damiao will be staying with Internacional, according to the Brazilian club’s chairman.
The 22-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham, as well as Serie A outfit Juventus in recent weeks.
However, Internacional chairman Giovanni Luigi recently told Radio Gaucha that Damiao will not be leaving the Beira-Rio anytime soon:
‘We are going to keep Damiao.
‘He would only have two motives to leave – due to sporting criteria, or if the club had financial problems and needed to sell one of its stars. That is not the case here.’
Luigi finished off by reiterating that the Brazilian international will remain an Internacional player:
‘I can assure you that Damiao will stay with us.’
