Has this man only himself to blame for becoming a bench warmer?

Andrey Arshavin recently fired a warning to Arsene Wenger, stating he could leave the club if he remains a bench warmer.

Arshavin has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal as he struggles to find form over the last season, which has resulted in him having very few chances in the Premier League:

‘Right now I don’t think about changing clubs.

‘If I will be benched for a very long time, then such an issue might be relevant.’

I can understand Arshavin being annoyed that he’s been on the bench so much in recent times, but when he has played he has failed to impress on a number of occasions and seems very hit and miss. This being said, when Arshavin plays well he plays very well, it’s just a shame that he is not a player you can rely on week in week out.

So, in order to keep the 30-year-old Russian happy is it time to give him a few starts in the Premier League? In my opinion, yes we should.

Arsene Wenger could give him a few starts, but we (the fans) would expect the same kind of performances and energy levels that the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta have been putting in, because there is no room for lazy or influential players in our squad anymore.

Has he got himself to blame for being a bench warmer? Absolutely.

The man himself recently confessed that he’s been average since joining Arsenal and needs to step up his game in order to play games. Simples.

I truly believe Wenger doesn’t want to change personnel too much because the team are finally coming together as one and are picking up results.

Well if the situation persists sell him off for a good fee then buy Andre Ayew from Marseile instead a more natural left footed winger who is faster and more creative and quite cheap too

Agree with marshall, unless wenger is going to play Arshavin in his correct position, i see little point in keeping him. We may as well get a proper left winger, as i see it currently if everyone was fit, he would be scraping into the 2nd X1 as a left winger and to be fair i reckon Yossi can do just as good a job at the moment in that role. Personally though, i would prefer we relax on ACN potentials as we have enough. If we cannot afford Hazard then go for Adam Johnson.

Has Arshavin got himself to blame ?? Utter rubbish.

He is not a winger, has not been a winger and never will be a winger. But Wenger can’t play him anywhere else because he (Wenger) has no other system nor will he taker anyone’s suggestion to find one. In his previous career Andre played in the hole behind the striker and roamed dangerously. He was bloody brilliant and continued that form in his early months for Arsenal. Since then Arsenal have ruined him. It is basically because one of the many Wenger beliefs (and ” I will nevere change my beliefs “) is that technically good players can go out there on the pitch and play anywhere – which is cock.
