These are the words of Arsene Wenger when asked by reporters who could fill the right-back slot for 2 months or so while Bacary Sagna recovers from a long-term injury.
Le Boss has moved to reassure several worrying Arsenal fans (including myself) that the North London club have a lot of options available to them in order to cover the 28-year-old Frenchman who suffered a fracture to his right fibula against fierce London rivals Tottenham 11 days ago.
So according to Wenger we have Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny, Johan Djourou and even new boy Andre Santos who can temporarily fill Sagna’s boots, but what I want to know from you guys is – who would you assign the job to?
Although Jenkinson is the most obvious choice for the position – seeing as he is a natural right-back – I don’t think we can count on the youngster. I just think it’s too early for him to be in the first-team and needs to learn a lot more.
Santos is a left-footer, so it wouldn’t make sense to give him the role – besides his defending isn’t the best – while Djourou, in my opinion, seems to look out of sorts these days.
In my opinion, I think Koscielny looks our best option out of the lot. His positioning is probably the best out of the bunch mentioned and he can defend. Granted, he has his dopey moments, but Kos looks the strongest contender and has been somewhat ever-present for us.
Francis Coquelin is also another option to consider, as he has played in the position before, but undoubtedly the young Frenchman looks more comfortable and assured in the defensive midfield role.
I asked my dad this question last night and he reckons Alex Song should be shifted there for the time being – can he even play there?

It wud be aproprait 4 kor 2 play @ that position… In place of Kor, Jenkinson shud play dia as a substitute.
let dont forget that jerkinson was bougth for that position,he should play there…let have the back 4 like this jerkinson,per kor and santos,midlfild song,arteta,thomas and gervinho stricking park and Rvp 4,4,2 formation
If Koscielny is played as a RB ..who will feel the void in the centre of the park. Djourou or/and Squillaci are flops.
