Arsenal have agreed a deal for Real Madrid teenager Jose Rodriguez, according to The Daily Mirror.

The Gunners have reportedly taken advantage of the ability to sign Rodriguez, 16, on a professional contract which will last five years.

Scouts from Arsenal were impressed by the midfielder in the Under-17 World Cup and have wasted little time in trying to snap up the Spanish youth international.

Arsenal, who have had a reputation of bringing in a number of youth players from across the globe, want to continue the policy despite the inability to hold on to some of their emerging stars.

Feed him, Nurture him and train him well so that when he becomes ready to deliver Real would buy him….. Pls buy world class and established players. We had enough of class B players or youngsters who would develop at arsenal and then leave at their peak…

I hope Arsenal are putting a clause in his contract not to be sold to Barca or Real as soon as he developes into a star (if he does). Anyway, i see AW is still concentrating on youth. After all that’s happening so far this season and the obvious need for proven talent he goes and gives us a swift reminder (with a kick in the nuts) of who’s in charge and who doesn’t matter (the fans). From some of the rumours today though it looks like AW may have realised how bad his summer penny pinching was? Only time will tell but I bet come February we make one signing at most. I hope i’m wrong i really do…
