Arsenal ready to nab United starlet

It appears Arsenal are waiting to see what happens with United youngster Paul Pogba as his contract is due to expire and will be allowed to discuss a move away from Old Trafford in January.

Pogba, who was described by Sir Alex Ferguson as ‘the new Patrick Vieira’, signed for the Red Devils back in July 2009, which caused uproar as former club Le Havre accused the Manchester club of poaching the youngster away from France.

Le Havre managing director Alain Belsoeur was reported to have documented proof that United offered inducements to secure Pogba’s signature. This led to a furious denial from the Premier League champions who threatened to sue the club. Everything blew over and no documented evidence ever came to light.

Fergie is against letting the French youngster leave the side and said during pre-season that Pogba would get his chances during the current season. Pogba did feature in United’s League Cup fixture against Leeds United, coming on as a half time substitute.  Fergie is reluctant to let the youngster leave the side and has recently said:

‘If we hold Pogba back, what’s going to happen? He’s going to leave,So we have to give him the opportunity to see how he can do in the first-team and he’s got great ability.’

It sounds like the player could be a good signing for Arsenal. However, I am sure that its not just us that have our eyes on him because Manchester City have been linked with almost every single player mentioned since the end of last season, and I’m sure Roberto Mancini would love to sign a player from United, especially one that they wanted to keep hold of.

  • Sick says:

Smith? Nope but wilshere, ramsey Gibbs etc must be better than the city foregin legion no? Silva, aguero dzeko. Or Anderson , chicarito nani onf where are the top smiths in the world !!

  • United says:

Sick, your example of claiming other teams have ‘foreign legions’ when you count Ramsey, considering he’s Welsh. Also, nice example for United using 3 non English players. Yet you fail to acknowledge that Manchester United have 14 English players registered for the first team alone, you Gunners have 4. You prob only have that many because FA rules stipulate a minimum of 3 are included. Next time, do your research.
