Arsenal in a referee induced crisis

Before I start I should point out that I realise that this article will be met with derision by a whole host of supporters. Top class numptys will bang on about ‘you win some, you lose some’ and ‘you make your own luck’ and other such banal comments. Well, if you disagree with me that’s fine, but you’re a shmuck if you do. When faced with the injustices that we Gooners have been of late, any supporter would be livid.

Arsenal are not in crisis. To suggest otherwise is plain stupid. So we’ve started slowly. Big deal. Liverpool and Tottenham have both done the same in recent seasons and finished comfortably in the top half of the league. We will do the same, maybe even finishing in the top six. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

The Gunners have 7 points from a possible 21 – a stark contrast to the hauls of both Manchester clubs, with both of them sitting pretty on 19. This is not the Arsenal that we are all used to seeing. They seem to be lacking some essential ingredient. I would suggest that this missing element is ‘belief’.

But this isn’t the reason for their lowly league standing. For that you need look no further than the refs that are ruining the modern game.

Newcastle – Joey Barton commits a foul inside the penalty box by hauling Gervinho up by his collar. No penalty given.

Liverpool – 2 offside goals given.

Blackburn – An offside goal given to Blackburn and Arsenal are denied a stone-wall penalty at the death.

Tottenham – A handball from Van Der Vaart. Then, whilst on a yellow, he runs into the crowd to celebrate. Whilst I don’t agree that this is a card worthy offence, that’s the rules and they weren’t enforced – he should have been sent off.

If the correct decisions were made in those matches, then several results change. We should’ve had three points against Newcastle, one against Liverpool, three against Blackburn and a draw at Spurs. That is three losses and a draw in what should have been two wins and two draws.

THIS ARTICLE IS MEANT TO BE A JOKE- RIGHT? STILL COMPLAINING ABOUT REFEREES? ARSENAL NEEDS AT A MINIMUM A NEW MANAGER TO CLEAN ALL THE MEDIOCRITY AROUND THE PLACE. THE TRAINING METHODS ARE ARCHAIC, THE MEDICAL STAFF AND PRACTICES SUBSTANDARD HENCE THE LONG LIST INJURIES AND OFF FORM PLAYERS.ON THE INJURIES THERE IS NO CURSE,IT’S CALLED POOR MANAGEMENT AND IS RIFE AT THE EMIRATES FROM THE OWNER, BOARD , MANAGER AND BACKROOM STAFF, INCLUDING THE MEDICS. THE PLACE STINKS OF MEDIOCRITY. PLAYERS CAN NOT BE BETTER THAN THEIR ENVIRONMENT, IT’S LIKE EXPECTING AN ORCHARD TO GROW IN THE DESERT. WE NEED A KNIGHT RIDING ON A WHITE HORSE TO INVEST IN THE CLUB AND SWEEP THE PLACE CLEAN FOR A FRESH START. NO TOP CLUB WOULD RETAIN A MANAGER THAT OVERSAW SUCH A SPECTACULAR COLLAPSE. ARSENAL ARE A SECOND RATE CLUB AS LONG AS THE CURRENT OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT TEAM IS IN PLACE. I FEEL SORRY FOR FOOTBALL LOVING ARSENAL FANS WHO STILL HOLD OUT HOPE FOR A LOST CAUSE. ARSENAL ARE A TRAIN WRECK IN SLOW MOTION. ONLY A FOOTBALL LOVING BILLIONAIRE WILL SAVE THE CLUB.

This poorly constructed attempt at a retort is meant to be a joke – right? Turn the caps lock off for a start. Wenger is a genius, the mans fighting an uphill battle against the elements and needs all the support we can muster but all you can do is cry and moan and wait for a billionaire to turn up on a white horse. Get a grip man and support your team to the hilt.

your right its all down to the ref’s its got nothing to do with the fact we have sold 2 of the best midfielders in Europe and not replaced them and the kids coming through aren’t good enough ( not including wiltshire and gibbs ) blaming ref’s and injuries is looking for excuses!!!! did u not watch the united game we were shocking . wenger’s not looking for excuses and nor should we a top 4 finish for the last 15 seasons means he knows how to win now we will see if he knows how to fight
