Why Remi Garde is right!

Former Gunner and current Lyon manager Remi Garde believes Arsene Wenger is still the right man for the Arsenal job, but must alter his transfer policy.

Garde, who played under Wenger for 3 years, has backed and given his support to the under-fire Arsenal boss, but thinks the Frenchman must add older heads to his squad.

The former France international recently told L’Equipe:

‘Nowadays, Wenger is missing experienced players capable to undergo pressure. He has no more players who can take over on the pitch.’

He added:

‘There were some during my time. If Anelka and Vieira could be so outstanding it was because the pressure was on Adams, Keown, Bergkamp or Wright. Nowadays there is not such a balance anymore.’

In my opinion, Remi is right.

Despite bringing in Mikel Arteta, Yossi Benayoun, Andre Santos and Per Mertesacker during the summer transfer window, Arsenal still lack a leader, someone to fire the team up when they’re down or low in confidence.

Our squad, in my view anyway, is still missing a few experienced heads that are capable of handling pressure, like an Adams or a Vieira.

Although Wenger’s summer signings may have strengthened the team since the departures of Nasri and Fabregas, I still believe a few more additions need to be added. But hey, this is our current squad until January, so let’s just hope they pick themselves up and get the ball rolling with a win against Shrewsbury tonight and another against Bolton on Saturday.

he’s bought these new players to strengthen the squad. but still plays the sh*te.
why are average and poor players like almunia, fabs, squillachi, kossa, donkey djuoruo still in the squad if he’s trying to win things.
we will never win anything with players like these in our squad. they are not even good enough to mix with the kids in the carling cup..
