Arsenal youngster Henri Lansbury has signed a new deal at the Emirates.

The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on a season-long loan with Championship side West Ham and has already made a big impact for the East London club, bagging a goal on his debut last Saturday.

Despite increasing speculation over his Arsenal future, the Emirates outfit have moved to secure his long-term future by rewarding him a new deal.

Lansbury previously stated that he hopes to use his loan spell at West Ham to help him breakthrough at Arsenal and hold down a regular starting role in the first-team.

The young midfielder has spent the last few seasons away from the Emirates on loan with spells at Scunthorpe, Watford and Norwich City last season prior to joining West Ham.

The England Under-21 international has made just 3 Premier League appearances for Arsenal (8 in all competitions) since 2007. Let’s hope that these stats pick up in years to come.

im glad to see it, this shows wenger values him and that lansbury has every intention of returning for a first team place. i think this gerneration of young players is the best arsenal have produced; the likes of wilshire, lansbury, gibbs, frimpong, ramsey, coquelin even walcott can be included in that batch becuase hes still young and has way to go still and not forgetting alex chamberlain, even considering the calibre of players floating around the reserves. ebilcilo, ozyakup, aneke, afobe, toral, bellerin. id say the youth setup is running quite efficiently at the moment.
