Arsenal prepare winter move for Fiorentina star

|

Arsenal are already planning their January transfers and, to be honest, this time we really need to make it count.

Arsenal were linked with Fiorentina midfielder Juan Vargas over the summer, but nothing materialised.

It is now thought that the Serie A club are preparing for an Arsenal bid during the winter window and could let Vargas leave if a fee of around £13 million is tabled, according to talkSPORT.com.

Vargas, who can play as a left winger, central midfielder or an emergency left-back, could be a great asset to Arsenal if they make a move for him in January. The Peruvian has been impressive for Fiorentina since his arrival from Catania in 2008, bagging 14 goals and 18 assist in 85 appearances for the Florence club.

At 27, the Peru international would seemingly fit straight into the Arsenal squad and would go someway to pleasing some Gooners, especially those who were not satisfied with Wenger’s summer acquisitions.

Only time will tell if Wenger will make a move for Vargas, but it looks likely.
