Arsenal are prepared to offload Andrey Arshavin in order to sign Lille star Eden Hazard, according to FootyBunker.

Hazard, who helped Lille to the French title last season, has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal for the past 12 months and it now appears that Arsene Wenger could be willing to sacrifice Arshavin in order to get his man.

The Russian, 30, was brought in for £15 million in January 2009, but has failed to live up to expectations at Arsenal. This could lead to Wenger offering Arshavin to Lille as part of a deal that would see Hazard sign for the Gunners.

However, any move is likely to take place next summer with Lille intent on keeping their playmaker beyond January.

Well this is a complete and utter lie.. Even if we wanted Eden, why would Arshavin go to Lille?! He’s already stated he’ll only play in England, Spain or Russia, what sort of journalism is this!?

  • Ard says:

Arshavin was one of our best performers in terms of minutes:goals:assists last season, why is there so much hate aimed at him when the likes of Walcott, Diaby and Rosicky are all classed as good players yet have never proved it consistently for Arsenal..?

The day we lose Arshavin is the day we prove we don’t want experience and show that we are just an academy not a club.

The day we lose Arshavin is the day we have a forward in the starting line up that tracks back and doesn’t cost us goals with reckless tackles when he does. Yes, he is talented, when he can be bothered, but I’d rather have good honest hard work over talent any day.
I don’t think he’s hated. People just get annoyed because we know he can do much better. He’s shown us before that he can, so why doesn’t he do it on a regular basis?

Summer is a long way off, so is Hazard. At his age Asharvin will take his wife home when he leaves Arsenal, this type of talk will only serve to destabilize him. If there`s a chance of improving the defence come January fine, other than that let`s concentrate on getting what we have up to speed.

it is a disapointment to arshavin who sealed his deal to arsenal by hisself bcoz of his like to arsenal.let him stay and see best of him.
