‘I think before letting them go, he wants to find the players to replace them’

Marouane Chamakh has given his take on the futures of want-away duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Speaking to French publication L’Equipe, The 27-year-old Moroccan said:

‘I think both players will quit the club.’

‘I don’t think it’s a matter of money for the Fabregas or Samir deals being held up, I think it is a case that the manager is looking for their successors and he hasn’t been able to find them. I think before letting them go, he wants to find the players to replace them. The problem is the season starts this weekend, and it’s even more difficult for us now.’

I agree with Chamakh completely, and I for one have been saying that they will leave this summer.

Arsenal have apparently decided that Nasri can now leave the Emirates but are trying to get £25 million from Man City, a move which I think is very clever from our board, who are well aware of City’s funds.

City had previously offered £15 million upfront and the rest over of the fee over 5 years. However, Arsenal want the cash now and let’s be honest, if City want the player then they will find a way to make it happen. I’m sure finding an extra £10 million for City is going to be like most of us checking down the back of the sofa and finding a fiver.

I am glad Arsenal have decided to adopt an aggressive style when it comes to outgoing transfers and are looking now to maximise the money we get for the players. In my opinion, this is a very new thing at Arsenal because in the past we have been reluctant to just say NO to teams. Yes we have recouped money for the players that have left the squad in the past, but this is the first time that we are seeing Arsenal stand up and say: ‘put up or shut up’.

Chamakh went onto comment further about Nasri and gave his thoughts about the current situation:

‘I would like Samir to stay at the club. It’s very strange – at a club like Arsenal – that he’s now been left with one year on his contract. It is bizarre that they have not managed to sign an extension with him.’

For me, Chamakh hit the nail right on the head with that comment.

A lot of the Arsenal fans are wondering exactly the same thing, why has his current contract been allowed to get to this stage that he could leave us on a free next summer?

I don’t think we will ever get an explanation for this. However, it is certainly something that we cannot afford to happen again.

when it happened with flamini, we all said that it cannot happen again… but it looks thats wenger just doesnt learn from his mistakes!!! and as we stand ,it looks that wenger didnt learn from his mistakes of last season with the defenenders… its 3 days till kick off and all we have is squid and jd fit to start at the back as cd. we all know what it means…disaster!!! come september 1st wenger will come out and say that he tryed hard bla bla bla and that we have enough quality at the back… its just unbelievable that after emirates cup failure and all the boos wenger still thinks he will get away with it… i think its time to start riots at emirates,or all of us will either get a heart atack or become an alcocholiks by watchings this team that we have now… look at ferguson, he knew he needs new players and he bought them before he pre season with out any excuses and lies, but wenger works very hard day and night, just that he works hard counting our money and not on spending it on the players needed to improve the squad… i am sick and tiered of cesc and nasri rumours, just sell them and replace them…there is plenty of quality players out there who would love to play for arsenal, and i think thats all we need at this moment, players who want to play for us,for the shirt for the pride!!! players like rvp, jack w…….. something has to be done before its too late….

What is Chamakh talking about? Either he’s got his head up his arse or the person misquoting him has their head up their arse.

Nasri replacements: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Ryo Miyaichi

    Fabregas replacements: Ramsey, Wilshere.

If Nasri is staying with one year on his contract, that’ll be because Wenger is hoping that winning trophies this season will change Nasri’s mind. Nasri can sign a new deal any time between now and next July.

People forget that players like Vieira and Henry, etc, went into their final year of their contract and signed new deals during the season. I remember some players winding their contracts right down and then signing a new deal. I think Bobby Pires did that.

I don’t feel worried at all. I know Wenger is going to sign at least one central defender and perhaps even 2.

What I’ve seen of Ryo Miyaichi, people will soon be saying Nasri who? Chamberlain is pretty good and people aint stopped speaking about Gervinho since he scored a brace.

You reckon AOC or Miyaichi can replace Nasri. In all honesty, I dont think they can.

Ramsey is a perfect successor for Fabregas though.

I am an ex employee of Arsenal PR Dept. Having been sacked, I shouldn’t say this but screw it I’m going to anyway.

Chammakh was told to say what he said, by Arsenal. This is so man city think that Nas is a certainty so they don’t shop around. Then when the time is closer we will say “sorry not for Sale”. Nasri is in on this too. God the things I could tell you about Arsenal!! Most of them good. I am upset with them, but the way they operate is second to none.
