Andrey Arshavin has set himself a target this season – scoring 15 goals.

The 30-year-old Russian, who bagged 10 goals for The Gunners last season, is determined to find his form which made him a hit with the Arsenal faithful following his arrival back in 2009.

Arshavin has predicted an overall improvement from the whole squad this season and has even set himself an individual target for the upcoming campaign as well. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s annual Emirates Cup, the diminutive Russian stated:

‘I think we will get stronger and stronger.’

‘In particular I think our work on set-pieces, both attacking and defending, will be better. We’ll also play a pressing game – if we do that well, I’m sure you’ll see an improved team.’

‘My own target is simple – I would like to score 15 goals in total.’

15 goals is a realistic target for Arshavin, which I believe he can achieve.

Despite his poor form, Arshavin still managed to bag 10 goals for us last season, just 5 less than Samir Nasri, who many believe was our best performer.

Personally, I just hope that the club have worked on their defensive set-pieces – which proved to be our Achilles heel last season – and that Arshavin’s predictions of an ‘improved team’ comes to pass.
