Arsenal youth star Kyle Ebecilio is highly regarded as one of the most talented Dutch youngsters of his generation.

The Gunners beat London rivals Chelsea to sign the 17-year-old this time last year. In a recent interview, Ebecilio spoke of senior player Alex Song and stated how he and the Cameroon midfielder are alike:

‘I mirror myself on him, He plays the same position and is technically very strong. Without wanting to put pressure on myself, I feel that my game is like his. I see him almost every day and I learn a lot from him.’

Personally, I haven’t seen Ebecilio play, but I’ve found a video of him featuring in the Under-17 World Cup final against Germany earlier in the year:

Now I know it is only one match and you can’t really judge a player on one performance. However, the youngster does look very strong on the ball and isn’t afraid to get stuck in either. I also believe he has quick reactions and his positioning is very impressive as well. I think this player is certainly one to watch in the future, and I am fairly sure that this will not be the last article we write up about this player. To me, Ebecilio proves that the Gunners do have some very talented youngsters in their ranks, and the Dutch youth star is just one of many.

Does he have the potential to emulate the likes of Alex Song? I Believe he can, in time of course.

If he keeps his head down and continues to develop his talent, assuming we can keep hold of him, then there is no reason why he couldn’t emulate Alex and become an intricate figure in our side in the future.

Song isn’t the only player that Ebecilio has mirrored his style and game on. Recently, the young midfielder also described his style of play like former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira:

‘English football is more physical and Dutch football is more technical but Arsenal is very similar to the technical standard I was used to at Feyenoord. I like to get forward and attack like Patrick Vieira. At the beginning it was a bit difficult but I had Ozzy [Oguzhan Ozyakup] and he helped me with many things. I didn’t speak any English when I came over but I had English lessons.’

So in truth, Ebecilio could basically become a player with the style and ability of both Alex Song and Patrick Vieira, which, let’s face it, sounds pretty exciting.

I watched him play and I was very impressed. his movement off the ball was superb. I believe he’s going to be next big thing for Arsenal coz he likes to go forward and the chance he missed in this world cup u17 came from nowhere but he is going to make it.

I wish him all the best. I like these youngsters
