A loan deal that Wenger should certainly consider snapping up

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has sensationally revealed that he would welcome a loan move for club captain Scott Parker this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The 30-year-old England international has been heavily linked with a move away from Upton Park, with Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa and newly Chelsea, all expressing an interest in the midfielder since West Ham’s relegation last season.

Sullivan has revealed that there has been no official approach for Parker yet, but insists that he would be more than happy for the defensive midfielder to spend the upcoming season out on loan:

‘We have had no approaches from any club officially. We keep hearing rumours and I would be wrong to comment further.’

‘I have not spoken to Scott myself. I think he has indicated and his agent has told me for his England career that he would like to play in the Premier League, but if we can’t get the right fee for him I think he accepts he will be playing for West Ham next year in the Championship.’

‘He is a supreme professional and I am sure he will do a wonderful job whether he is with West Ham or somebody else. I mean we would love a deal – and this has been mooted – that maybe we loan him out for the season for a substantial fee and then when we get promotion he comes back to us. That sort of deal would appeal to us because we love Scott. We would obviously want a loan fee because he has substantial value and has three or four years left of his career.’

‘They would probably be getting the best of those three of four years. He is at the absolute peak of his game at the moment and is playing out of his skin.’

Undoubtedly, Sullivan’s proposal will go down with all the clubs interested, none more so than Arsene Wenger’s side.

This would be an ideal deal for the frugal Frenchman to try and seal this summer, as he looks to bolster his squad for the upcoming season.

In my opinion, Wenger should definitely consider this proposition thrown down by Sullivan, as we could potentially acquire a top player without splashing the cash.

Should Wenger attempt to sign Parker on loan this summer?

i think its a good idea to bring in parker he is so good in the defensive midfield atlest he could be of great help for song who could sometimes be out of tone especially during big matches and for wenger that is so prudent atleast this one is loan.pls the management should consider this great offer.

  • babsjyde says:

Would wenger take him? All he knows is to get baby with cheap money he never cares that fans want trophy not money this season. We are seek and tired of him,we have no trust in him. Let cesc go and join barca and keep Nasri.

Get another replacement for Cesc and get experince player not feeder team. Mr stingy man spend the money pls we are getting frautrasted pls.

Of course, we should go for Parker on loan – or indeed buy him. Wenger either won’t do it or will be so xxxxing slow Scott will be taken by another London club.

Did you know the other Arsenal coaches put together a video to urge Wenger that Parker was the man we needed ? Wenger disagreed. Either because he doesn’t like those of 30 plus. Or because he hadn’t thought of it first ???

30 plus with 5 years to serve (and knows his trade) is better than a 22 year old who takes 3 years with Arsenal, learning the job until he is really good enough – and then xxxxs off somewhere else !

West Ham will looking a few million for loaning him for a year so we might as well just pay around 8 to buy him!!

How about a swap deal Denilson plus £4m, he cannot be in Wenger’s plans, he has just come on as a sub then been taken off after 20 mins and 2 mistakes.

  • ken says:

Good idea but i would buy him bearing in mind that Song,Diaby and others will be away for a month in the African nations

    • www says:

      Diaby is French!

But Frimpong could well be Essien’s replacement for Ghana, leaving us with Denilson

    oh not again!
this parker thing still going on?
you people really believe a former chelsea flop will improve arsenal fc? last year it was the same song about arsene signing joe cole, now is this dude.
parker flopped at chelsea then relegated with westham. not good enough for arsenal.
i am sure arsene will ignore him. man utd are also in the market for a midfielder to replace schole guess what? they prefer to pay big money for nasri and ignoring this overhyped british flop.

Sam seems your opinion differs from all the People that play with and against Parker – His fellow pro’s, who all voted him Player of The Season. Think i will go with their opinion rather than yours, but you are welcome to yours.

It will be of great advantage to take the loan deal for the player, esp considering that Song would be leaving in january for cup of nations. We might not be needing him at the end of next season esp if he didn’t perform well. However, the prospect of the new promoted arsenal boys, could help balance the midfield when the loan deal expires and he goes back to his club. And i doubt them to get promoted back to the epl next season.

It sounds like a good idea… hence it won’t happen.
