The Daily Mail claims that St. Etienne striker Emmanuel Riviere, who has been hailed as the new Thierry Henry, would welcome a move to the Emirates this summer after being linked to the Gunners.
The 21-year-old impressed in front of goal for the Ligue 1 outfit last season, scoring 8 goals in 35 appearances, as well as creating 6.
Liverpool are also believed to be interested in the France Under-21 international, but it is thought that Riviere would prefer a move to Arsenal in order to work under Arsene Wenger’s tuition. The striker was quoted in the Daily Mail saying:
‘I am flattered to be linked with the clubs mentioned. I am a young player, so to be linked with Arsenal is fantastic for me.’
‘If Arsene Wenger is interested in you it means you have potential to be a very good player. People compare me to Thierry Henry, and that is a big compliment. If I can achieve half of his career I will be happy.’
Personally, I don’t know too much about the player, all I know is that Riviere is contracted to the Ligue 1 club until June 2014 – so if there are any fans of French football reading this, please feel free to give us a bit more of an insight on the player – cheers!
His goal ratio last season was approximately 1 goal every 4.5 games, which isn’t bad, but not great either. However, if he has been hailed as the new Thierry Henry, then surely he must be a good player and have some form of talent right?

I do like how arsenal look to the future but how many wingers do we need. to be honest we dont have that many wingers do we. i mean top class wingers only nasri, walcott, ashavin. i think that is all.. lool.. so maybe we do need some wingers. some width
Goals aren’t everything for a striker at this age, because it can be worked on. Even Lukaku, whose supposed to be one of the best striking talents in Europe only hit 16 league goals last season in a much much weaker Belgian league.
Davy Klaassen/Ajax is the real deal,it would be a tremendous buy,and only 19,right age for the squad and is technically superb.
