FIVE players that Wenger should sign this summer but wont

|

Everyone is predicting the usual Arsene Wenger transfer activity, making promises that there will be changes but come the final minute of deadline day, Le Professeur will either sign an unknown, and lets face it, pointless squad player, or no-one at all.

Like so many transfer windows before, there are potential signings that are ideal for Arsenal and staring Wenger in the face, with fans, ex-players and pundits all calling for the Frenchman to open up the cheque book, but in his usual stubborn way, Wenger refuses and Premier League rivals snap up the perfect signing for the Gunners instead.

Here are the five players I think the Frenchman should sign, to which he will reply ‘I did not see them’.

Scott Parker

The West Ham midfielder has stated his desire to return to the Premier League following the Hammers relegation and will face no shortage of admirers, including Tottenham Hotspur. Surely the pleasure of getting one over your fiercest rivals in the transfer market is incentive enough, before you even consider the positives Parker would bring. The former Chelsea midfielder would add all the attributes this current Arsenal squad has been criticised for not having: experience, passion and strength in the middle of the park.

Gonzalo Higuain

Reportedly available for £15 million as Mourinho looks to fund his own transfer spree, Higuain is the perfect striking partner for Robin Van Persie. The Argentinian has an impressive goal scoring record for Real Madrid and has all the attributes of a world class finisher, something Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh seriously lack. The forward would happily share the goal scoring burden that has rested solely on Van Persie in the second half of the season.

I find it curious you say “…fans are crying out for a Iker Casillas or Gigi Buffon…”.

We are, but these are keepers that became number 1 for top clubs at a young age and grew into the role.
this is exactly what it seems Chezzers is doing atm.

i wholeheartedly agree with your article…but i have my own preferences for players….i agree with scott and higuain…but as a priority he needs 2 centre-backs…no-nonsense big blokes that will sort out set-pieces and crosses. I would use vermaelen as an optional central midfield destroyer as well as a centre back. relegating kos and djourou to squad players. If cesc goes, we need to replace with a top quality player if there are any available.Leighton baines for clichy and maybe a 30-something keeper to kelp bring on chezzer.
But its just preferences…the main thing is that wenger gets really serious and kicks the bargain basement habit he seems hooked on!

I kindly agree with scot parker and velloso..
They good in mieldfield especially being defensive mieldfield..
But higuain ,nope his to slow .. stakelenburg maybe good but we still have scezny and fabiansky..

    1) Stakelenburg – He as our Number 1 with Szczesny deputising. Forget Flappyhandski as back up; he needs to be shown the door along with Almunía!
    2) Sakho – Young, but experienced and strong as a bull. An alternative would be Jan Vertonghen.
    3) Parker – A commanding presence in the centre of the park and should only cost a small fee.
    4) Ashley Young – Why, oh why is Wenger the Loser thinking of spending £10m on League 1 youngster Oxlade-Chamberlain, when an extra £5m could land a young, pacey, established player, who happens to have the club in his heart?
    5) Defoe – Unsettled at the Spuds and is a total goal machine. He’s the type of striker that we have missed for season after season.

Players to go: Almunía, Flappyhandski, Squillaci, Denílson, Diaby, RoSICKy and Shitmakh.

Wenger cannot recruit top players. Top players will not come to a club whose own top players want out.

TOP PLAYERS WON’T COME TO ARSENAL BECAUSE THEY
DON’T LIKE WENGER,IT’S WELL KNOWN HE’S THE MOST
DISLIKED PREMIER DIVISION MANAGER,HE LIES,AND IS
A VERY BAD SPORTSMAN,SOMETIMES WATCHING HIM ON TV
HE’S AN EMBARRASSMENT,THE ONLY PROBLEM US SUPPORTERS HAVE,THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND SHAREHOLDERS WILL NEVER SACK HIM BECAUSE HE MAKES THEM LOADS OF MONEY,WE ARE ONE OF THE RITCHEST
CLUBS IN WORLD,WITH A CRAP TEAM,”I SAY WENGER OUT”.

5 Players Arsenal should buy but will not….

1: Tim Howard, very consistant, very vocal with defence, great shot stopper, and BIG

2:Sakho, Big young and fast, good in the air and with both feet, wenger missed out on Micha Richards, if Wenger had bought him a few years ago, we would have a solid defence now.

3: Scott Parker,(well he might get this one) has few good years left yet, would show the rest of the team a passion to tackle and win the ball back, and would be very good role model for Wilshire and even Song.

4: Jermaine Defoe, A proven premership striker/poacher, arsenal fans always saying “we just need another striker that will bring 20 goals a season” well Defoe can do that, he would link up great with RVP (only problem being they might do more linking up in the injury room) but with both fit Arsenal would have a very affective strike force.

5: Honda, A very calm player player great play maker, scores goals and is very fast and stong ( would also sell alot of merchandise in Japan).

This list is realistic, Ofcousre would love to add Messi, Ronaldo, Vidic etc…but thats never ever gonna happen, I think this list just isnt never gonna happen lol.
