Should Arsenal entertain a proposed £6M Roma offer for Bacary Sagna this summer?

|

Roma’s new owners have made a right-back their top priority this summer and have pinpointed Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna as a potential target, according to the The People.

Interim boss, Vincenzo Montella, has met up with the clubs new owners to discuss squad strengthening this summer, and it is thought that the Serie A side are in pursuit of a top quality right-back.

Roma are willing to offer approximately £6 million for the France international, but could up their bid if unsuccessful. However, they could face stiff competition from domestic rivals Juventus, who are also said to be interested in the Arsenal defender.

But, with the backing of their new American owners, who are on a mission to make ‘I Giallorossi’ a force once again, Roma are capable of tabling a colossal amount of cash to land the 28-year-old Frenchman this summer.

The Italian outfit will apparently offer Sagna a four-year deal in a bid to lure him to the Stadio Olimpico, whether Arsene Wenger is willing to part with his national compatriot is undetermined, as he too will be looking to improve his squad for next season’s campaign.

Would you sell Bacary Sagna this summer if a substantial offer was tabled?

Are you high? This is a silly question. We’re looking to build from the current underpeforming team, not remove important pieces of the puzzle. Sagan is probably one of the top 3 Right Backs on the EPL. To go for 6 million pounds would be madness. He’s worth more than Kolo Toure and Adebayor put together. Sorry mate but you asked a silly question and probably will be getting more silly answers.

Stop participating in this Transfer Gossip rubbish, because we’re all getting tired of it. It’s not instilling confidence in gooners at all.

certainly not!! Sagna is by far Arsenal’s most consistent player and is arguably the best RB in the premier league by a big margin. Besides, why would he leave Arsenal a club that is virtually on the verge of greatness and move to Roma, a side that struggles both in the Serie A and in Europe and is arguably not as ambitious. This article is absolute rubbish.

  • Hazza says:

@bergkampfan10 and Mr K – where does the writer once say that Sagna should be sold? he is merely asking a question to the fans, so to have an outburst him is a joke.

Personally I wouldnt sell Sagna. He is a great right-back and is committed to Arsenal. If we were to sell him then it should be for a huge amount of cash that’s it

they can have eboue istead of sanga and include de rossi in the part of exchange deal

  • Common sense says:

mr editor start thinking like an adult 6m?. i thought so

  • venky says:

    well said mr.k

  • Alan Mac says:

What a load of tosh. Sagna is pure class. Won’t be sold as long as he wants to stay, and his commitment has always been excellent.

  • 49Unbeaten says:

£26 mil’ maybe, but £6 mil’? Roma are on glue if they don’t think that’s insulting!

  • mid says:

are u drunk?let me put it to u this way:who`s better than sagna in the EPL?his position ofcourse.

    • Tony Merakli says:

Where does it mention in the article that we should sell Sagna? I merely asked a question, read the article properly before writing a comment which claims I am ‘drunk’.

I think Sagna is a great player, probs best RB in the league, but his crossing needs improving. defensively he is sound though

  • Pan says:

I think everyone has got the wrong end of the stick concerning this article. The writer has asked a question about whether they should entertain this offer. I think instead of insulting the writer, you should all respond back like adults and instead like children. You lot insulting the writer need to grow up.

Anyway concerning the question, I believe he is not that good and should be sold, but 6 million is a joke for him, maybe within the 20 million mark and then sell him. Sell him, bring in Gregory van der Wiel.

If we look at his overall performance, he is unable to cross a ball, he is bad positionally and is a bad player in general. Of course this is my opinion and I expect people to disagree, but do me a favour if you do, respond back without insulting me like you did the writer.
