FIVE strikers for Wenger to ponder over this summer

|

2. Shane Long

Not one of the biggest household names, but Long is certainly starting to become one. I believe that Shane Long would be an excellent addition to the Arsenal squad. The Reading striker made 51 appearances in all competitions this season, bagging 27 goals along the way – a very fine return for the Irishman. With a better passing team behind him, and a striker to work alongside, like Robin Van Persie, Long could definitely improve as a forward. I personally feel that with his ability on the ball and eye for a goal, the 24-year-old could turn into a deadly striker. Also, with one-year remaining on his current contract, and the possibility of Reading failing to make the premiership, I feel that it wouldn’t be that hard to sign him. If his ambition is to make it back to the big-time, if of course he fails to come up with Reading this season, then perhaps a fee of about £6 million could acquire the Republic of Ireland hit-man.

3. Carlos Tevez

Already there are question marks over his future at Manchester City this summer. Everyone knows that Carlos Tevez has a proven record when it comes to bagging a goal, but it’s also his work-rate which what propels him above others in the market. With 52 goals in 81 games for Manchester City, since his move From United in 2009, Tevez would make a superb addition to the Arsenal squad. The 27-year-old has a deadly shot on him, is a good distributor of the ball, can header, take a free-kick, and is a team player. Tevez has passion, this is shown every time he crosses the white line.

The one problem with Tevez is that he doesn’t seem to want to stay at one club, and has frequent arguments with the board and management. Should this deter Wenger from making a move for the Argentinean? It proves why the Frenchman never made a bid for Craig Bellamy. However, Tevez would cost an absolute fortune to bring to the club, and his wage demands would be through the roof. Although, with wages from Bendtner, Vela and Denilson being freed up this summer, it could be a possibility.

It has been rumoured that Tevez could be off to Italy this summer unless his family issues are resolved. But you never know, Wenger could pull of a massive transfer shock and bring the Argentinean to the Emirates….it’s a long shot, but here’s hoping!

FALCAO / SANCHEZ / BENZEMA. Any of these guys would be a good buy. Benzema can change his words if the right offers are made. My best pick is Falcao.

4 my own point of view mr wenger should go 4 a good sharp strike bcos only v.p is our strike just look @ wen dis guy ave injure no replacement 4 our attack and over 4 benzema has turn down so not only d attack alone but 4 him 2 bring in new face who are capable of doing thing and who can take on opponent and beat them in a game

Shane,Bent ar not good enough for any team eager to win something. Benzema is good,Tevez is super(though he’s comin to d Emirates is not feasible),Bojan is not a proven match winner. He has d potentials, but he’s yet to prove himself. We dont just need players;we need match winners.
