Pepe Reina, the Liverpool and Spanish international goalkeeper, could potentially end up moving to Arsenal this summer, and here’s why.
Since the former Liverpool manager, Rafael Benitez, left the Reds, after finishing seventh in the Premier League, Reina has looked unhappy and admitted that one of the main reasons why he joined Liverpool was because Benitez was in charge.
Among the media and fans it seems almost certain that Arsene Wenger will make a move for the 28-year-old goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
Reina moving to Arsenal appears feasible as he has already ruled out a move back to Spain. So, could in fact Arsenal be the club the Spaniard moves to this summer?
Pepe Reina would cost the Gunners at least £20 million, due to the clause in Pepe’s contract, which would ultimately break Arsenal’s transfer record and go against Wenger’s strict transfer policy. However, the question that Wenger will be asking himself this summer is – is Pepe Reina the missing link between Arsenal and silverware?

This season, Reina managed to achieve his 100th clean sheet in the Premier League with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa in early December. The Spaniard has played for Barcelona B, Barcelona, Villarreal and in the Champions League final with Liverpool.
The experienced shot-stopper has kept 137 clean sheets since joining the Reds in 2005 and is yet to reach the peak goalkeeper age of 30.
Reina is undoubtedly a world-class goalkeeper and is probably missing the Champions League football. Arsenal are in desperate need of a world-class goalkeeper to improve their chances of ending their five, almost six, year run without a trophy. However, the question remains, will Pepe Reina depart Liverpool this summer in order to participate in Champions League next season? Only time will tell.

I would love to see Reina at Arsenal but I don’t see it happening. Do you honestly think Wenger will spend 20 million on a player. Let’s face he won’t buy him and won’t buy anyone else. I hope I am proven wrong though.

wenger offered 20 million last summer for him, which proves he does and will spend money. he is awesome and losing wenger would undoubtedly screw us and lose us so many players. i dont think he will purely beause of szczesny’s emergence.
we need a new striker and unless ramsey pulls it back soon, another midfielder and a left back, unless we get a class centre back and move vermaelen to left back, which i would love
