FIVE things we learnt about Arsenal today – Have your say

|

I’m really tired of saying this but here goes. Arsenal once again dropped two vital points at the Emirates after playing 101 minutes against Liverpool earlier today, which has left the Gunners title hopes hanging in the balance.

Wenger’s men were moments away from bagging all three crucial points after Robin van Persie netted home a 97th minute penalty which Cesc Fabregas had won. However, referee, Andre Marriner, audaciously awarded a 101st minute penalty to Liverpool after the fourth official had put up eight minutes of extra time on the board.

Arsene Wenger believes the penalty was a soft one, but having seen the incident over and over again, I simply can’t agree with the Frenchman. Evidently, Dirk Kuyt slotted home the very late equaliser, and as a result, Arsenal’s chances of being crowned Premier League champions are fading quickly.

A majority of Arsenal fans will point blame at Marriner for adding an extra three minutes on top of the eight allocated, but ultimately the Gunners have once again shot themselves in the foot.

So, what FIVE things did we learn about Arsenal today?

I didnt learn anything new. Its just the same old crap as always. What we did learn is, dalglish wont take any of wengers bitchy moaning though. I think dalglish said what alot of supporters are feeling about the players and the manager right now, “PISS OFF”!!!!!.

    • Exo says:

Don’t blame Wenger mate, he’s gonna go out and buy in the summer. 7 x 16 year old boys 4 of which will not get work permits 2 that will go out on loan and cost us every week and one that will get injured and cost us a decent players wage every week. In Arsene we Rust

  • Shafiu says:

Where are d five things that we learned.

    • Tony Merakli says:

I was simply asking the question to the readers, hence why I put ‘have your say’ in the title

  • John says:

    5 things

    1) they fold faster than superman on laundry day.

    2) There guttless overpaid a holes with no bite.

    3) They dont take enough shots on goal and overplay the ball 90% of the time.

    4) Song has the built to be a monster yet he plays like a mouse.

    5) Nobody gives there teamates a kick in the a** when needed no leadership whatever. Much of boys waiting on ever other player to take charge.

    6) No everyone will blame the referee yes the peno was soft but why on earth did Eboune climb on his back the d**b f**K???? If you would to win teh league you ahve to be beating Liverpool at home and not be depending on a peno to get a goal.

We are not good enough its a simply as that

I will give you the five tings if you like

1.Arsenal have not learnt anything from the last 6 years

2.If you want to win a game you play with two strikers RVP is noot a striker who can lead the line

3.Wenger keeps faith in players who are sub-standerd

    4.Arsenal are going backwards

5.Wenger has no tacticle knowhow after 0.0 against Blackburn and Sunderland tactics where the same

In summery for Arsenal to move forward Wenger has to go did anyone notice during the injury to Carriger hoow Dalglish was talking and motivating his players whilst Wenger and Rice sat llike cardboard cut outs scratching there arses

    • Samuel says:

So who exactly are the sub standard players Ken refers to,Sagna,Clichy,Arshavin and Walcott,so time
for a summer sale with handsome profits to be had
      just do it already?

  • WC says:

    1) For all of Arsenal’s possession football they don’t have a 20 goal a season striker to finish even half chances

    2) The players lack the mental strength to see out a full 90+ minutes when it counts

    3) Something has to change in Arsenal’s management. Either a new manager or an opposing voice that will force Wenger to examine himself and his policies.

    4) Half the 23 man squad is just not that good

    5) Theo still doesn’t have any tricks in his bag aside from running faster than everyone else in a straight line

  • tunadog says:

There is only one issue & its been the same issue for 5 years. THE DEFENCE IS A DISORGANISED SHAMBLES. Until Wenger brings in a defensive coach nothing will change .

  • gooneroo says:

    1 eboue is sh*te
    2 eboue is sh*te
    3 eboue is sh*te

    • Emmanuel Eboue says:

      Gooneroo,
Tell me that to my face….Then I will respect you. God bless you.

      EE

    • Samuel says:

But so are Sagna and Clichy, two ball watchers who ca
nnot put in crosses for Bendtner and Chamakh ,can
not concentrate for long spells of any match, cann
ot get forward enough so yes they,re sh-te?

  • realistic tony says:

same old shambles…cant hold a lead for 3 minutes…this is really the pits!!!!! its not a one-off is it!!!happens as regular as clockwork…and who is to blame…mr tactical supremo AW!!!…GET HIM OUT ASAP!!!

    • Josh says:

It was a disaster but how can you blame AW for the referee adding 3 minutes on top of the allocated 8?

      • Dan says:

We should be able to hold on to a lead for longer than three minutes. It’s Wenger’s fault for building and maintaining a spineless, gutless team and it is his lack of tactical nous, which is costing us!

        WENGER MUST GO!!! KLOPP IN!!!

        • Josh says:

I believe the players have to take some blame as well, not just Wenger…they just don’t look up for it

  • dissatisfiedgunner says:

    1. Tactically we have lost our edge – Teams now know how to defend against arsenal because there is no plan B. Just pack the defence and midfield, keep your shape and you will beat Arsenal in on counter attack.
    2. Players being played out of position – wenger takes of Theo and puts on Bendtner, whose services would have been better playing in the middle and have balls supplied to him. Chamack would have been a better option. Remember when RVP was injured we played more direct football by putting more balls in the 18 yard box. We lacked that today. we tried to play through a congested midfield and defence with nobody to aim at in the box. Tactically it would have been better to bring on chamack to bolster the attack, after taking of Wilshere, Fabregas should have played from there with Song holding. Remember Fab used to play from there before Wenger decided to play him further up the field.
    3. Defence is poor – It is unbelievable that we concede about 3 minutes after we scored what was supposed to be the game winner. Does Arsenal have a defence coach? We need to learn how to defend as a unit, to protect a lone goal if need be.
4.We need to find another alternative than rely on Fab,the heartbeat of the team. if Fabregas is off the pace, then we will fall short, as we found today. That is over reliance on one play as we did in the last few years of Henry.
    5. We need the fans at the Emirates to support the team. When the going gets tough, the fans need to stick with the team. That is true support
    !!

  • taderera washington says:

lack of tactical options from the manager keeps the team drawing and can’t hold a lead for more than 3 mins like what they did against sunderland;blackburn and newcastle respectively.
