Arsenal legend Thierry Henry insists he is desperate for a return to the club in which he spent almost eight years.
The former Gunners striker, who is currently plying his trade in the MLS for New York Red Bulls, has revealed ‘he wishes to return home’ to North London. Henry, 33, said:
‘I love the club. Unfortunately we know I had to leave the club but although I left Arsenal you never really leave Arsenal. Whenever I go back I feel like I have gone home, it’s a big family and I became a fan of the club.’
‘I knew what it was like to beat Manchester United. I knew what it meant to the fans when we were playing against Tottenham, I knew all that. You don’t get that from one or two years, you need to live and breathe Arsenal to understand that. It goes without saying, I would love to go back there. I hope one day I can go back, I love that club and I just want to give as much as possible to this club, after what that club gave me.’
Henry also claimed that he would be willing to replace Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger when the time comes for the Frenchman to retire from club management. The legendary striker added:
‘I know that the day Arsene leaves is going to be a difficult one, I don’t know who can replace him. That is going to be hard. But, if one day they want me…I just want to be back one day. When, I don’t know, I just want to be back.’

I think personally Wenger should bring back the legend that is Thierry Henry, Let’s face it we have no strikers once Van Persie gets injured, Chamakh and Bendtner are not up to stratch, just look at how they played against Birmingham in the cup final.
I know he won’t be the same Henry when he was at Arsenal but if Henry was to return then I still think he’ll be able to score goals and even terrorize defenses. The main thing is he will be able to help Van Persie with the goals.
i’ll personally pay his first week wages. His status will improve our claim. his better than bendnter and chamakh put together.
Thierry Henry is my favourite football player ever and i really want him back.. I din’t want him to leave from Arsenal to go to Barcelona… Thierry is “older” now but i am sure he can give too much power!! Thierry come back, first as a player and after become coach 😉
