Arsene Wenger believes a victory over Stoke City tonight is vital to Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title…indeed it is Mr. Wenger.
The Gunners have a great opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Manchester United to just one point if they can beat Tony Pulis’ side at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
Wenger’s men have already suffered some surprise defeats at home this season to Newcastle, West Brom and even local rivals Tottenham, and the Frenchman is aware that his side can’t afford any more slip-ups if they wish to be in contention for the title until the very end.
With Arsenal still competing for all four trophies this season, Wenger outlined the importance of tonight’s game. The Frenchman told the club’s official website:
‘This is a very important one for us. If you want to keep in touch with Manchester United, which we want more than anything, this game is vital. We have given so much in the Premier League, we have gone through so many difficult periods and have come back with such resilience.’
Having read the comments made by Arsene Wenger about tonight’s game, I have to say that I am in full agreement with the Arsenal boss. The Gunners have fought back marvellously to put themselves in with a chance of lifting the Premier league title this season, but if they wish to continue, and ultimately, be crowned as champions, Arsenal have to beat teams like Stoke at home…period.
I remain confident that Arsenal will bag all 3 points tonight; I just hope we don’t pick up any unnecessary injuries before the Carling Cup final this Sunday.

This is definately a key game which Arsenal must win. We can’t afford to drop anymore points and if we win we’ll put pressure on Man Utd. Also Man Utd are playing some tough games soon so it is vital we beat Stoke and keep the pressure on.
