Would a loan move prove to be the perfect tonic for faltering Arsenal star?

|

I will be blunt. I’m not a big fan of Nicklas Bendtner. I think he’s over-rated, and as not many people rate him that highly that is saying something. A lot of this has to do with his attitude and how he feels he is entitled to now be in the Arsenal starting line-up, despite never scoring consistently or maintaining a patch of form for any amount of time.

To be fair to him you do need a lot of self-confidence to make it to the top in the football industry, but he seems to have crossed that line over to arrogance and, in my opinion, is really just an annoying guy. Perhaps being shipped out on loan to West Ham will be just what he needs to take him down a peg or two, whilst giving him sufficient game time to develop and see if there actually is a talented player somewhere there after all.

I still doubt that Bendtner will ever be good enough to be the main striker at a club like Arsenal. Although he just turned 23 this month; I’ve seen enough of him to conclude that he will never be a world beater. He could still prove to be a useful squad player for the Gunners as he can offer a different dimension to Robin Van Persie. However, the success of new signing Marouane Chamakh has pushed Bendtner further down the pecking order, and with the Moroccan displaying all the attributes an in form Bendtner offers, but with a greater degree of quality, it is hard to see him forcing his way into the side, apart from the odd cup game.

A move to West Ham will offer Bendtner the chance to have a consistent run of first team action and even become the focal point of the team’s attack. A position he should relish and a chance to prove his critics, like myself, wrong. Although he does not want to go to West Ham, believing he is good enough for Arsenal, it is exactly the kind of club he should be looking at to reinvigorate his career that has stalled somewhat over the last couple of seasons.

At a club like West Ham, Bendtner would be given greater opportunities and would be able to show if he has the ability to perform and score consistently at any level, and maybe even earn himself a move to a team higher up the table than the Hammers. But in all likelihood not back to Arsenal as he just doesn’t have the talent.

I don’t like Bendnter 1bit, but that does remove that fact that his a player with the qualitites, but he overrates himself, cos he has yet to prove his worth and doesn’t seem to want to. I think a loan will do 2things to him:
    1. Make him to discover his inner potential, via more playing time.
    2. Make him not relax in the arsenal camp, for that’s the source of his arrant arrogant. If the arrival of Chamakh or recovery of RVP did not do that, a move away from the emirates will do that.

  • They probably just keep them for the sake of stability for both the people of the foreign country and our own. You just can’t overnight cut all ties with a foreign government. They have to weigh the pros and cons and access the damages it can cause for both parties now and in the future.
