QPR star regrets Arsenal snub, but could he still be a future Gunner?

|

Taarabt was close to signing for the Gunners in 2007 but chose to join Spurs after being persuaded by former Arsenal scout Damien Comolli.

‘He was at Arsenal then. But, when I was going to go to Arsenal, he moved to Tottenham. He told me: “Come to Tottenham. We want to do like they do at Arsenal and take the best young players in the world. You’re going to have a better chance there” I believed him.’

He finished off by expressing his regret over signing for Spurs:

‘This was a mistake and I regret it. Tottenham tried to do it like Arsenal but it’s a different culture.’

Taarabt has recently admitted that he would relish the opportunity to play under Wenger at the Emirates in the future, although talks over a possible move have never been discussed with the Frenchman.

‘I like the way Arsenal play. If Arsenal come, of course, I’ll be very happy.’

I’m not a bias Arsenal fan, nor am I trying to be one on this issue, but which club is renowned for developing youngsters into world-class acts?

Unquestionably, had Taarabt signed for the Gunners instead of Spurs in 2007 then his reputation, and more importantly, his overall development would have been far greater than it currently is.

Personally, I am a huge admirer of the midfielder, even when he was playing for our enemy. He certainly has the ability to become a great player, and one that should be participating in the Premier League.

I for one hope that Arsene Wenger renews his interest in the young Moroccan in the near future, as I feel the Frenchman could mould him into a potential world-beater. Nevertheless, as far as this issue goes, Adel Taarabt, you should have definitely chosen the red side of North London 3 years ago mate.

Good player, but doubt Arsenal will go back in for him after he rejected them for the Spuds.

If he snubbed the Gunners, likelihood is They won’t go back in for him. Great young talent though, and has done really well for QPR since he joined them

Don’t know why he fell for Comolli’s nonsense…Spurs better place to hone talent? Ha! that’s rich. He is a good player, who is certainly do well for the rangers down in the Championship, but Arsenal won’t want to know him after HE snubbed the gunners.

He should have joined Arsenal when he had the chance, but I don’t agree that his career would have changed had he done so. He has done well since leaving Spurs, gone to QPR, been made captain and is making a name for himself through his determination and performances. Arsenal may look to snap him up in the summer, as they need new recruits in midfield

I seen a lot of this player in the championship and I think he is a very good player. I don’t won’t to judge this player too early and call him a great player because the fact is he plays in the championship. If QPR get promoted and he shows the same talent in the premiership then I’ll call him a great player.

He should have signed for Arsenal rather than Tottenham, he would have turned out to be a better player and probably might have been in the Arsenal squad.
