Marseille have joined the race to sign Porto striker Andre Silva, according to mercato365.com.

The Portuguese international has been scouted on a number of occasions by Arsenal in recent months, if reports from Portugal are to be believed, but it seems that they will have to compete with the Ligue One club if they want sign the 21 year old.

Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud has been spotted at two Porto games in recent weeks, Mercato 365 report. He watched on as the Portuguese side lost 2-0 to Juventus in the Champions League, whilst he was also present when Porto beat Tondela 4-0  in the league a couple of weeks ago.

Silva scored once and provided an assist in that game, taking his tally to 18 goals in all competitions so far this campaign. He was however an unused substitute for the match against Boavista at the weekend. Porto were however still able to win without him after recording a 1-0 away victory on Sunday night.
