Hebei China Fortune will offer a staggering £22 million-a-year for Alexis Sanchez if he decides not to sign a new contract at the Emirates, according to Sport.
The Spanish newspaper are reporting that the Chinese club, managed by Sanchez’s fellow countryman and former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, could outbid the Gunners by a huge margin.
Sport say that Arsenal are prepared to go as far as £11 million-a-season (or £211,000-a-week) to keep the 28-year-old, but if the Chilean international’s future is decided purely on financial terms then a move to China would look inevitable.
However, Arsene Wenger has stated he is hopeful that Sanchez will consider his footballing future rather than merely seeing the riches of the Chinese Super League.
The fact that the Gunners can only pay half will be something that will concern Arsenal fans the longer it takes for Sanchez to sign a new deal.
