Arsenal are among four Premier League clubs interested in Atalanta defender Mattia Caldara, according to reports in Italy.
Juventus are also understood to be keen on the 22-year-old, but La Gazetta Dello Sport, as reported by The Daily Star, claim the Serie A giants face stern Premier League competition for his signature.
Along with the Gunners, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all keeping tabs on Caldara.
The Italian centre-back, who came through the youth ranks at Atalanta, has made seven appearances for the Serie A club so far this season and has also found the back of the net on three separate occasions in his last four matches.
Caldara has had loan spells at both Trapani and Cesena where he featured regularly, and has also been capped nine times for the Italy Under-21 side.
Arsene Wenger could be looking to add a new centre-back to his existing squad to potentially replace Per Mertesacker, whose deal at the Emirates is set to expire at the end of the season.
