Speaking to Arsenal Player on the club’s official website, manager Arsene Wenger has said he wants more goals from German international Mesut Ozil.

The comments came after the former Real Madrid midfielder scored the third goal, a volley at the far post from a cross, against Swansea City in a 3-2 victory for the Gunners and Wenger thinks he can do that more.

Wenger said:

‘Mesut has that in the locker you know. When you see him finish like that, you think ‘Come on my friend – do it more often!”

The German usually gets more assists than goals but currently has three strikes to his name from his six appearances in the Premier League whilst he is yet to set any goals up.

In total, he has eighteen goals in his Arsenal career as he competes with the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the injured Aaron Ramsey for the starting spots behind the main striker.

It’s expected that he’ll play against Middlesbrough next weekend as Arsenal look to go top of the league outright after drawing level with Manchester City last time out.
