Transfer, loan or stay put?

Carl JenkinsonWest Ham will attempt to re-sign Carl Jenkinson on loan this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old featured regularly for the Hammers last season, but returned to Arsenal with his future still in doubt.

Jenkinson was loaned out to West Ham after Arsene Wenger signed Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle.

But the former Charlton full-back has returned with another youngster ready to secure a starting role in Wenger’s side next season, Hector Bellerin.

Arsenal will now have three players vying for the right-back position next season, but it’s thought either Bellerin or Debuchy will get the nod from Wenger, leaving Jenkinson out in the cold once again. Should this prove to be the case, Jenkinson will have to decide whether he wants to stay at the Emirates and fight for his place, or secure a move away, either on a temporary or permanent basis.

Jenkinson still has three years left to run on existing deal and I believe still has a future at Arsenal. However, he must be patient. So, for the sake of his development, if he’s not going to feature regularly for us next season, I hope he secures another loan move away, preferably to another Premier League side.

Transfer, loan or stay put? What should Wenger do with Jenko?

Jenkinson was superb for us last season and I’m hoping we can get him on loan again/buy him. That being said the level you boys are at I’m not quite sure if he’s good enough! I think he’s too good of a player to just sit on a bench week in week out but if he’s loaned to us again, he’s still probably be behind Bellerin next season.

He settled in the right back role very easily but he needs to know where he is next week . it might not be enough to simply be in the squad and know he is third choice right back. West Ham should test the water with a decent bid as he is a good player and one for the future too.
