gregJust when you thought Arsenal had a glimmer of hope of signing Grzegorz Krychowiak after Sevilla brought in Lucho Gonzalez on loan from Porto, the midfielder’s agent says he will not be going anywhere.

Arsene Wenger is believed to be in the market this month for a defensive midfielder, even more so now after learning Mikel Arteta is out for a further three months after having ankle surgery, and has been linked with a big money move (thought to be around £18 million) for Krychowiak.

But the 24-year-old’s agent, Cesary Kucharski, told Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb that his client will ‘no way’ be going to Arsenal, citing the player’s happiness and contract length at Sevila:

‘Grzegorz going to Arsenal? No way, he’s happy in Seville. He feels perfectly fine with club, teammates and the city.

‘I can’t see why he should leave, he’s still on a deal with Rojiblancos until June 2018.’

Reports in November suggested the Gunners were ready to meet Krychowiak’s alleged £23.5 million release clause.

But the club are yet to table a bid for the tough-tackling Pole and I doubt they will now after his agent’s latest comments.
