PodolskiInter Milan are on the verge of signing Lukas Podolski, according to Corriere dello sport.

The German forward has struggled to cement a regular spot in Arsene Wenger’s side this season, despite a decent debut campaign at the Emirates where the 29-year-old managed to contribute 16 goals and 11 assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

Currently in his third season, however, Podolski has found himself more on the bench rather than on the pitch, and has featured 13 times (two as a starter) so far for the Gunners.

The World Cup winner has hinted at a move away from the Emirates as result of lack of game time and looks set to join Inter on loan until the end of the season.

The Italian publication claim an agreement with Arsenal has been reached but there is still some minor details that need to be ironed out, with the loan fee the major factor in this proposed deal – Inter are willing to pay £8 million (in loan fees) for the German but will try their luck with a bid of £5-6 million.

Wenger has indicated in the past that Podolski will not be leaving Arsenal during the January transfer window but with Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud all fit and available, the Frenchman may change his mind on the matter.
