Virgil van Dijk wants to join Arsenal in January after labelling the club ‘amazing’.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Emirates in the New Year, with the Gunners believed to have put him on top of their wishlist.
Reports suggest an £8 million move is imminent from the Gunners, and the Celtic centre-back has admitted that he would jump at the chance to play for Arsene Wenger’s side should it ever happen:
Van Dijk recently told Sky Sports:
‘Arsenal are an amazing club.
‘It’s a big club with a great history. I’m happy here just now and I want to play well and we’ll see what happens in the future.
‘Until there are bids I can’t say thing. There is no rush to leave but you never know in the future.’
Celtic would be willing to sell the powerful Dutchman but would want a fee of around £15 million.
Arsenal are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements this January, especially if either Per Mertesacker or Laurent Koscielny become unavailable for a long period of time.
Although Van Dijk wouldn’t be a regular, the Dutchman would provide decent cover and would be a snip at £8 million.
However, a reported £15 million asking price may deter Wenger’s interest, leaving the Frenchman to look elsewhere.
This jus news but the way I know Mr Wenger he has his eyes somewhere else…
