Could landing Draxler spell the end for this man?

Santi CazorlaA lot has been said about Mesut Ozil’s form this season, but there is another player who has been equally as poor as the German maestro and could well be on his way out of the club if Arsene Wenger manages to get his hands on Schalke’s Julian Draxler – I’m talking about Santi Cazorla.

The 29-year-old Spaniard signed for Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 and hit the ground running, contributing 12 goals and 13 assists in 49 appearances in his first full season for the Gunners. However, Cazorla has had a topsy-turvy for us this season and has been a shell of a player he was last year.

He has only managed to find the back of the net six times and bag four assists thus far, and his overall performances have just not been up to scratch for a player of his quality. And although he has featured regularly for us this season and is on the verge of signing a new deal at the club, unless it is confirmed, there is every chance that the Spaniard may leave.

It’s no secret that Wenger is eager to sign the highly-rated Draxler – the Frenchman tried to acquire during the January transfer window but didn’t stump up the cash Schalke were demanding for the 20-year-old.

But it seems highly likely that Wenger will try again at the end of the season and should he succeed, then room may have to be made to fit him in – this is where Cazorla comes in.

Cazorla was linked with a move away from the Emirates last summer, with Atletico Madrid supposedly interested in the playmaker and recent reports claim Real Madrid are weighing up a move for the Spain international at the end of the season, and Wenger might well be tempted to sell if he can land Draxler as a replacement.

We have many creative players at the club already and I don’t see how Wenger would satisfy all of them if another was to come in during the summer. Jack Wilshere is a Gooner through and through and Aaron Ramsey has now become a valuable member of the side, while Tomas Rosicky recently put pen to paper on a new deal – so these three will almost certainly stay put for the time being. Meanwhile, Ozil only signed for us last season, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Serge Gnabry have a bright future ahead of them at the Emirates. So the only possible player who could be offloaded to make room for Draxler is a player very similar to the German starlet – Cazorla.

In my opinion, if Draxler is signed then I think it could spell the end of Cazorla at Arsenal.

Be4 talking of a seasonal perfonce of Metus Ozil and Cazola please let us all focus on getting a great striker in other word let us talk about how can Arsenal get rid of this cunt called Giroud and open door to the likes of Super Mario Baloteli. This Giroud knows only to use his physic to guard the ball, apart from that nothng extra, he can not drible or run with the ball past a single diffender, so when it come to tyte game where the midifielders are strugling he becomes isolated and no idea. I like him to be sold ths summer and we buy super Baloteli, if wenger dare to sign suarez last summer he can do it Baloteli regardless of his behaviour, he may well change there at arsenal with the amount of goals he will score and the guardian of Arsene, the man is class of his own, good ball player and can score from long range. He can also help use to get many goals from set pieces and best penalty taker. Plse Ozil and Cazola are our best midifielders they on need good wingers and great striker somethng Arsenal lack at the moment. Ozil was better playing with walcot, thnk critically Mr. Writer.

It gives me pain to reading this poor grammar, clearly you can read so why can’t you process the same language into copying it out. Also giroud doesn’t receive the support he should. Only Walcott was capable of getting the ball to giroud at a good postion as he’s the only one fast enough to counter attack without the mid fielders running back. As everyone’s so slow getting the ball up, he has nothing to do but guard the ball and wait for a 1-2 pass.

  • Fabian says:

Hahahaa ‘Guarding the ball, waiting for one-two’. Suarez, Aguero, Rooney, Van persie, Negredo, Sturige, even Tores to name few they don’t Guard the ball as much as what ua cunt do. They used to take the ball and follow the diffenders creating fears and pushing their team foward. Only a specialist in failure can thnk Giroud is better.

stupid pointless article!!!!!!!!!!!! Cazorla’s form has dipped for us this season because he has been mainly deployed on the wings instead of more centrally… any player that should be worrying about his place in the squad due to any arrivals should be Podolski, who just looks abject lazy, slow and unwilllingly to get forward and run back.

  • Fabian says:

I agree with u Mikey on Podi, but still we need a vesatile striker, Giroud isn’t. Walcot could have boosted our title challenge if not injured, he is the only good option upfront as he can run with the ball and a good finisher, he scored against man u, chelski, man shit, liverfool and Totenhm. But Giroud has not managed to score any goal aganst those big teams since his arrival plus his style of play i don’t see him to score in anytime against these teams.

Giroud has gotten 16 goals so far in all competitions. So he isn’t a bad striker but certainly not the prolific kind of a striker that has been missing in Arsenal since the hay days of Henry. Let’s look at Liverpool stricking force of Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling that is anchored on a powerful midfield of Gerrard and Coutinho. Let’s look at Chelsea that is built around supper Hazard with so many strong and dependable attacking and midfield options that is anchored on John Terry’s defence. Let’s check on Man City that have Aguero, Negredo, Fernandinoh, Toure and a host of classy players in the attack and the midfield. Arsenal have Guriod and Podolski in the attack. In the attacking midfield the class of Ramsey and Walcott is unavailable. Ozil is supposed to be a Hazard, a Gerrard or a Fernandinho for us. But unfortunately he is yet to be. I hope he will soon. Otherwise, the scouting competence of Arsenal scout or scouts that recommended him to the boss should be questioned. What Iam trying to point out is, Arsenal have anchored their play on Ramsey and walcott in the middle. And Guriod in the attack and anchors it on the consistency of their defenders. The absence of Ramsey and Walcott has caused a vacuum in their midfield which Arteta, Wilshere and Cazoria are unable to fill adequately. That is the reason why Arsenal is at the moment struggling with results. Iam not particular for the signing of Draxler, because he appears to be a kind of media player which the media want to impose on the boss. Where was he when his club hosted Bayern? Why didn’t he show his class in that match? The boss should be careful not to buy a possible flob. If only Arsenal can get us two supper midfielders of the Caliber of Hazard or Gerrard and two attackers of the caliber of Suarez or Bolotelli. Arsenal may not struggle much like the are doing now when the going gets tough during the season. They will be having a fat options to rotate when one or two players get injured. Guriod must stay. So too are Cazoria, Podolski, Bendtner and ofcourse Sagna. See how Chelsea is successfully rotating. The reason why Liverpool is doing well now, is because their striking trio are mostly available. Should Suarez and Sturridge become unavailable, Liverpool may struggle. The fatter is the quality in a team, the stronger is the chance of the team winning a title or titles. However, I am still nursing the belief, Arsenal will not finish this season without winning some titles.

CRAP. I don’t think there is any indication of Cazorla leaving the emirates. If there are players who will be offloaded, they will be Bendtner, Young, Fabianski, Sagna, and probably Vermaelen and Diaby. I don’t see anyone else being allowed to leave.
