Should Arsenal make an offer West Brom can’t refuse?

Reported Arsenal target Peter Odemwingie can leave West Brom if a good offer is tabled from a top club this summer, according to Baggies coach Roy Hodgson.

The Gunners have once again been linked with a summer move for the Nigerian international, who has netted 10 goals for the West Midlands outfit so far this season.

Hodgson told The Sun:

‘If we get one of those offers you can’t refuse, I’d be delighted to say, ‘Peter, you’ve shown what a great player you are – we can’t compete with this’.

‘If one of the big four sides comes in, you can’t compete.’

Due to interest shown in their star striker last summer, West Brom supposedly slapped an £8 million price-tag on Odemwingie’s head and even offered the former Lokomotiv Moscow forward a new three-year contract at the start of the current campaign which he signed to deter interest.

So what would be an offer the Baggies couldn’t refuse this summer? Well I’m guessing it would be somewhere in the region of £10 million, considering they quoted previous interested clubs £8 million last year.

Personally, I don’t think we should be chasing Odemwingie.

The Nigerian is a good striker who possesses Premier League experience, but I think we should be looking to capture Lukas Podolski from FC Koln ahead of the West Brom striker, as I believe the German would suit Arsenal’s style of play and offer more to the club at 26.

yes we should make a 4-8 million offer but only for the subs cse chamakh needs to go so does bentner and park and tht would leave us with odenwinge and miyachi not bad subs but diaby has togo along with sqilahi please dont see odenwinge as a cheap buy cse he is talented and we would be able to rest van perise more often

Osaze is a very good striker for a like of Arsenal team seal the deal with him,but before buy him you have to sell chamahk the poor striker i ever see in my life go for lucky boy peter osaze odewingie £10million

I’m surprised you picked up on this as its complete rubbish. Arsenal are not interested in this guy at all. I’m not surprised as he’s no where near good enough.

  • Solomon says:

Why shoul Arsenal pay #10 for Osaze? Hes a good player but Podoski will make more business sense and good support for RVP than Osaze. With RVP, Podoski, Lansbury back on loan and Vela on the bench, our striking department will be okay. Hope we can off load Charmak, Park and Bendtner. Bendtner has improved a lot but he does not want to come back to the emirates after his loan spell so he can go.

I think if chamakh, park, bentner and vela should go,we can get osaze and podolski in.hogson is not expecting up to 8mils for a 30yr old player in a low level club.osaze can break into RVP and podolski cos there both left legged.so he can be an option for us.he has a better goal sense to gervinho cos there similar in style but osaze has better shot power and good eye for goal.

There is no need for us to make an offer for this guy we should instead be signing podolski and one experienced mid fielder who has a great vision in mid field and at back we really have quality comprising of vermaelen sagna santos mertesacker jenkinson

  • George Smith says:

Just imagine if WEnger were to get Podolski and a few othe top quality players. It could get get the gunners fighting for the epl.Wenger better not get any more African born players . Ther reason are obvious. Even red faced has avoided them like the plague.

  • Samuel says:

@george smith, why are u talking lyk a racist? Wat u said is just ridiculous. Is song not an African born player?
